The "Democracy" Preview

Yes The Nation Votes this Saturday to Choose our Government going Forward. Will it be the Libs or Labour? Could it be a Hung Parliament?

I Just Can’t wait for Saturday night so I can ignore it all and get back to my Favourite place in the World “The G”, for one of the highlights of the AFL season the Dreamtime game, Which returns home after Two Years away due to that pesky Virus.

I love the Sir Doug Nicholls Round

The Indigenous Jumpers each team wear tell amazing stories, and What about Melbourne this year or should I say the Narrm Football Club as the Dees will be called for the next two Weeks. For the full story behind the name change and each club’s Jumper this year the AFL website has a link explaining who designed each and the story behind it. Well worth the read.

You can also vote for your favourite one. My vote goes to the Marlion Pickett and his Partner Jessica Nannup designed Tigers Jumper. Alright I am slightly biased! But it is a Brilliant Jumper. To be honest, they all look great.

While the NFNL will have its own round later in the year, we hope all our own Indigenous Roosters enjoy this week.

Speaking of this week, as you plan your viewing I guess you want to know we’re to go?

Let’s Start with the Netball Friday night and our Roosters have started the season in good form. They will look to carry that on this week as they take on Greensborough4. RMIT court 4 at 8.45pm.

Now are you ready for this… both Womens teams are in action on Friday night, yep you heard me right, Friday night lights! (Hopefully at Moore Park before to long)

The Development side trek out to Laurimar to test out their new lights from 7.00. It’s the second time we’ve played Laurimar. The first an exhilarating 1 goal win to our Roosters , so not much separates the two teams, another classic is on the cards.

The Senior side are at J.C.Donath Reserve (Keon Park) @ 7.00 for the Massive rematch with Montmorency. They may have got the better of us last time out, but they had to work for it.
I know we’ve improved since then, and expect a bold showing. If I wasn’t heading to Crown to see the legendary Ian Moss and some other bloke (who is Troy Cassar-Daley anyway?) I know where I’d be.

What’s your excuse?, None well then get there! Or to Laurimar, or the Netball for that matter, pick one and Cheer our Rooster Women to Victory!

Saturday and Auskick will again take over the top oval Saturday Morning from 9am as the next Gen hone their skills.

The 19s this week has Team Stoiks at home against Monty from 9.40, it’s a very congested ladder at the moment and that old 8 point game rings true this weekend.

Team Bubba are on the road to St.Mary’s @Whatmough Park from 9.40, It’s not too far to go. Here’s a thought – why not travel out to see the boys at St.Mary’s to cheer them on and maybe help with a job or two, then it’s a quick trip back to the home of Footy to take in the last 3 quarters of the reserves.

I’m sure team Stoiks won’t mind. There’s always a crowd at home, so support on the road would be appreciated.

In the reserves it’s 3 v 4 in a big clash. A good chance to consolidate our top 3 spot. Another of those 8 pointers? Should be a ripper.

And that leaves the Main event on a massive day, Yes the Ladies are taking over the clubrooms for the annual (when Covid permits) “Ladies day”. No doubt a fun time will be had by all, and remember Ladies – what happens at Ladies day, stay at Ladies day!

Of yeah and there might be a game of Footy at 2.10 as well, and what a Massive clash it is as Well with the 3rd placed Monty in the house.

They don’t come much bigger. Mont are on a two game win streak, and we’re off the back of that thrilling draw. The stakes are high in this one dare I say it..an 8 pointer….

To Sunday and our Scintillating Juniors are in action home and away.

In age group order and

9 Red will take the Long and Winding Road to Laurimar for a 9.15 bounce down.

There’s no place like home for 9 Blue with Mernda in the opposition rooms – 9.15 start.

Life is a highway for the u12s as they also head to Laurimar for a 10.45 bounce down

Home is where the heart is for the 11s, 10.30 start taking on Diamond Creek

Take me home country roads, we’ll more suburban roads really as the 12s host Diamond creek from 12.00

The 13s are Home by the Sea, or in this case the Lake, 1.30 against Wallan

Greensborough are at Our House to take on the 16s from 3.00 it promises to be Madness.

On the Road again, can’t wait to get back on the road again, 17s are at Montmorency in a huge 3rd vs 4th clash. 1.15 don’t miss it.
