First, an apology. As I sat down to type this masterpiece I realised we had not wrapped up last week’s action! I think I got caught up in the return of the Great Man Dusty, and just forgot.

But it does prompt me to remind everyone that our welfare officers, Jane , Andrew and Sean are available should anyone need to reach out, while life is getting back a new type of normal we all still have our daily challenges so just remember you’re not alone.
Their details are on the website as is a link to a few support websites, it’s by no means exhaustive but it’s a start!

And I’ll put the challenge out to our loyal followers, check in with friends and Family, give ‘em a call and have a chat. You’ll feel better, and I guarantee they will too.

Ok very quickly last week’ wrap. The Netballers won another nailbiter. 20-19 over the Fizroy Stars.

The Senior Men’s had a very disappointing defeat at home to Macleod. The reserves got the job done. Team Stoiks in the 19’s got a win, while team Bubba had a difficult day at the office.

The Senior womens teams were both in the black this week. We had a great win on the road at Greensborough and at home the Development team got the job done as well with a solid win over Heidelberg 2.

In the Juniors some outstanding football was played. We won some games we lost some games, that’s how it goes….

So again my apologies. Moving onto this week’s action, let’s start on Sunday with our Amazing Junior’s.

The Sizzling 9 Blue are on the Road to Epping for 10.45 start

The Scorching 9 Red take on Montmorency at the insane time of 11.30 at Simms Road Reserve, Note the Address, “Simms Road Reserve”. Don’t go to the wrong ground.

The searing under 10’s kick of the home action at J.E.Moore Park with a 9.00 start against Mernda.

The salivating under 11s are away at Eltham @12.00

The S….ok I’m out of S’s so the under 12s are at home taking on Yarrambat @ 10.15am.

Next up at home our Under 13s host Diamond Creek @ 11.45

Mill Park Lakes is the Venue. South Morang is the opposition for the under 16s @ 3.00

At home, the 17s will have the company of Wallan @ 1.15pm to close out the Junior action. A perfect warm up game for the massive clash that follows, as the Senior Women take on the Impressive Darebin outfit in a top 4 clash action from 3.00pm.

This will be a high quality affair between two evenly matched, skilful sides.

Do yourselves a favour and if you can get to the ground to cheer on the team they would love to see a few members there for this high octane encounter.

The development side head up the highway to Wallan for a rematch of the thrilling grading encounter that was an absolute nail biter @ 3.00. I know it’s a long trek, but if last time is anything to go by, this will be a cracker. So make a day of it and head out and cheer the team on if you can.

Just a reminder to everyone without teams scattered far and wide at times and in particular this weekend in both the Juniors and Seniors, Volunteers are required to do some jobs to help get the games played, so if you are attending a game and you can help out in any capacity please see the team manager and let them know, The games cannot go ahead without the full complement of helpers.

The old adage of many hands make light work is so true, so help out where you can, and I’ll let you in on a little secret, none of the Jobs prevent you from watching the Footy – It’s True!.

Back to Saturday, and Auskick will be in full swing on the top oval from 9.00am

In the senior Mens’, we’re scattered at three venues this Saturday.

Team Bubba in the 19’s take on Banyule at Beverley Road Oval from 9.40, if you don’t know where that is, it’s right near Possum Hollow Playground, that should help, if not then it’s just up the Road from Heidelberg’s Ground.

Team Stoiks are at Elthams Central Park taking on the Panthers also from 9.40.

Both teams would love some support and Helpers (see above) so again if you can get along that would be fantastic and from either venue it’s not to far a drive to War Memorial Park where the Seniors and reserves take on Greensborough.

The reserves take some solid form into this one action from 11.55.

Then at 2.10 the seniors will look to put last week’s display behind them and grab the 4 points on the road.

Won’t be easy against a very good side, but we’re up for the challenge, plenty of parking available and easy to get too, so let’s get there in numbers and cheer our Roosters on.

Which brings us to Friday night and the Netballers are in action at Mill Park Stadim against Bundoora 7. Game starts at 7.40pm.

Ok a little housekeeping and Ladies day is next Saturday (21/05). Tickets all sold out. Don’t forget to vote first!

The Silly shirt/iPod shuffle night is …… this Saturday night. $5 Per song…Prizes galore. Should be a good night, get along and have some fun.

Sponsors are the life blood of the club, get on the website and check out the directory we have all your needs covered.

Memberships are still available from the bar. See Dooga Thursday nights. The rooms are open, you can grab a Parma and a refreshment, grab your membership and enjoy some ripping company.

That’s a wrap, or in this case a Wrap and a Preview, see you at the footy.

Keep your eye on the red white and blue.
