What a Smashing day for Round one of the senior women’s competition for 2018 and our Ladies did not disappoint.

In a rollicking affair in front of the home team faithful, we held a 2 point advantage at the first change, as the temp soared and the heat on the field intensified we extended the lead to 3 points at half time.

The game opened up in the 3rd quarter and a 3 goal to 2 stanza saw the lead out to 11 points at the final change, at this point the solid preseason that started way back in November paid dividends as the Girls withstood a spirited Monty charge to extend the lead to 16 points at the final siren and bank the first 4 points of the year.

Coach Brett Pollard was quoted after the game saying he was satisfied with the effort and commitment throughout the game, but there is still much work to be done as the season unfolds, starting on the track on Tuesday night as we prepare for Laurimar away next Sunday.
